U. S. pharmaceutical giant Pfizer Inc. has been forced to recall nearly $10 billion of generic celecoxib, a blockbuster medicine that treats arthritis, asthma, and other conditions, and more than 3,000 deaths, the U. Food and Drug Administration said today. Pfizer has asked the FDA to revise its drug labels for the drug to reflect the latest information available. The recall was announced on March 6, 2023.

Pfizer said yesterday it has been forced to recall nearly $10 billion of celecoxib from its generic versions to reflect the latest information available, which is expected to include information on its cardiovascular and respiratory safety. Pfizer, which has 60 million sales a day, has been forced to recall roughly $16 billion of its drug from its generic counterparts. The company said it was "reviewing the information from the manufacturer and is continuing to evaluate the potential risks and side effects associated with the drug."

Pfizer, which is based in New York City, has already pulled all its drug labels from its Web site, and has asked the FDA to review the information from the manufacturer and to revise the drug labels to reflect the latest information available. The agency said it will also be reviewing the information from its drug sponsor.

In the latest information, Pfizer said it has "considerable concerns" with the safety of the drug. The company said it would continue to evaluate the new information from Pfizer and will "review the potential risks and side effects associated with the drug" in order to ensure the drug is safe and effective.

The company said the drug will be packaged in three different bottles, labeled "Celebrex," "Celecoxib," and "Pfizer's Celecoxib," and the company will issue a copy of the drug's label to Pfizer. "The company will also be reviewing all the product labels that it owns with Pfizer, which is our mainstay drug," Pfizer said in a statement. "We are also reviewing the current information and will work with the FDA to update the label information to reflect this latest information and to update the labeling if necessary."

The FDA has not yet issued a decision on the recall of Celebrex, Pfizer's other generic drug for treating pain and arthritis, and the drug's label, but Pfizer said it has been contacted by the FDA's laboratory to determine the recall.

Pfizer said it is reviewing the information from the manufacturer and will be assessing the risks and side effects of the new information in order to ensure the drug is safe and effective.

The company said it was "reviewing the information from the manufacturer and is continuing to evaluate the potential risks and side effects associated with the drug." The company said it is "reviewing the information from Pfizer and is continuing to evaluate the potential risks and side effects associated with the drug" in order to ensure the drug is safe and effective.

In addition to its consumer-protection measures, Pfizer said it plans to have a "black box" warning on Celebrex on March 29, 2024, and to provide the warning to the manufacturer in the event that it is pulled from the market.

In a statement, Pfizer said, "Pfizer is continuing to work closely with the FDA to update the label information to reflect the latest information and to update the labeling if necessary."

Pfizer, which is based in New York City, has 60 million sales a day, and it will have to submit more information about the safety and efficacy of its products to the FDA in order to receive more regulatory approval and approval to market a new drug.
